  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Baking Process
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add in the sifted all-purpose flour, salt, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of a greased baking pan to form the crust.
  5. Spread the apricot preserves evenly over the crust.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough over the apricot preserves.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
