Ingredients
  

Cocktail Ingredients
  • 1 cup blood orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup tequila preferably silver
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur such as Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1/4 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup adjust to taste
  • 4 slices blood orange for garnish
  • 4 lime wedges lime for garnish
  • salt for rimming glasses optional

Method
 

Prepare the Glasses
  1. If desired, rim the glasses with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into salt.
Mix the Cocktail
  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the blood orange juice, tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup.
  2. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
Serve
  1. Strain the mixture into the prepared glasses filled with ice.
  2. Garnish with blood orange slices and lime wedges.
