- Prepare the dough by mixing warm milk, granulated sugar, and yeast; let sit until frothy.
- Combine all-purpose flour, unsalted butter, and eggs; mix into a sticky dough.
- Knead on a floured surface until smooth (around 5 minutes). Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Roll out the dough, cut into circles, and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Fry in preheated oil until golden brown (about 2 minutes per side). Drain on paper towels.
- For the custard, cook whole milk with sugar, egg yolks, cornstarch, and vanilla until thickened. Fill cooled donuts with custard.
- Prepare ganache by melting heavy cream with chocolate chips; drizzle over filled donuts.
