Ingredients
  

Chicken Marinade
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Sandwich Assembly
  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup lettuce leaves
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise optional
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce optional

Method
 

Marinate the Chicken
  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add chicken breasts and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Grill the Chicken
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Assemble the Sandwich
  1. Toast the bread slices on the grill for 1-2 minutes. Place a slice of cheese on each piece of bread, then add grilled chicken, lettuce, and tomato. Spread mayonnaise and hot sauce if desired. Top with the other slice of bread.
Serve
  1. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately with your favorite side.
