Method
 

  1. Fill a medium saucepan with 3 cups of water and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to the simmering water.
  3. Crack each egg into a small bowl individually to avoid shell mishaps.
  4. Stir the simmering water gently to create a whirlpool, then carefully slide the eggs into the center.
  5. Cook for 3 minutes for runny yolks or up to 4 minutes for firmer yolks.
  6. Use a slotted spoon to remove the poached eggs and drain on paper towels before serving.
