Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz spaghetti or any pasta of choice
Sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 cups cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated, optional

Method
 

Cook the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta in a colander.
Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the halved cherry tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
  3. Stir in the chopped basil and cook for an additional minute.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  2. Serve hot, topped with grated parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes
