Ingredients
  

Tuna Salad
  • 2 cans tuna drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise or to taste
  • 1 stalk celery finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper or to taste
Sandwich Assembly
  • 8 slices bread your choice (white, whole grain, etc.)
  • 4 leaves lettuce for garnish
  • 1 tomato sliced optional

Method
 

Prepare Tuna Salad
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, chopped celery, chopped red onion, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Assemble Sandwiches
  1. Lay out 4 slices of bread on a clean surface.
  2. Spread a generous amount of the tuna salad mixture onto each slice of bread.
  3. Top with lettuce leaves and tomato slices if using, then place the remaining slices of bread on top to form sandwiches.
  4. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
